Pausing Windows Updates by Vessel

Not every vessel should receive update traffic at the same time. The portal now includes simple per-vessel Windows Update pause controls.

Sometimes the right update decision is:

Not now.

Vessels may be on poor links, in a sensitive operational window, or waiting for a support engineer to confirm readiness.

Cyber Detective Portal 2 now includes Windows Update enable and pause controls at vessel level.

Simple by design

Each vessel gets a clear update toggle.

Enabled means update traffic is allowed.

Paused means the portal sets the flag used by the downstream update system to hold update activity.

There is also a fleet-level control for setting the same state across all ships in the selected fleet.

Why this helps

This avoids turning patch control into a hidden spreadsheet or a private chat thread.

Operators can see which vessels are allowed to update and which are paused.

That makes it easier to coordinate bandwidth, maintenance windows, and rollout timing.

Bottom line

Windows Update pause control is now visible in the portal for fleets that use the service.

It gives support teams one simple switch per vessel without mixing that control into unrelated quota settings.
